Hello,

I believe every child has the ability to become a confident, capable reader — they just need the right support to get there. I work one-on-one with students using proven, multisensory strategies designed to make reading finally click. Warm, patient, and deeply experienced, I am here to walk alongside your child every step of the way.

My Story

Hi, I'm Christine Flanagan! I am a passionate educator, reading specialist, and academic therapist with over three decades of experience helping children unlock the joy of reading. When I'm not working with students, you'll find me spending time with my two beloved dogs or finding new ways to bring creativity and warmth into everything I do.

My journey in education began with a deep love for children and a belief that every learner deserves the tools and support they need to thrive. From my early days teaching in self-contained special education classrooms to designing multisensory reading programs for middle schoolers, I have dedicated my career to meeting students exactly where they are — and helping them discover just how capable they truly are.

I specialize in working with students who struggle with reading, including those with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. My approach is rooted in the Orton-Gillingham methodology and multisensory learning — research-backed strategies that engage the whole brain and make reading click in ways that traditional instruction simply cannot. As a Certified Academic Language Therapist and Reading Specialist, I bring a deep well of knowledge, training, and genuine care to every session.

I am also trained in a variety of additional evidence-based programs, including Visualizing and Verbalizing, Structured Word Inquiry, and the Wilson Reading System — giving me a rich toolkit to tailor instruction to each unique learner.

Whether your child is just beginning their reading journey or working to overcome years of struggle, I am here to help them build confidence, skills, and a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

I also believe in nurturing the whole child — which is why I hold a certification in Yoga for Special Needs. Helping kids feel calm, grounded, and ready to learn is just as important as the academics themselves.

When it comes to your child, you deserve someone who will show up with expertise, compassion, and a whole lot of heart. I can't wait to be part of your child's story.
